Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for Kids & Teens in University Park
Partial Hospitalization Programming (PHP) offers a child in University Park Texas the opportunity to receive effective treatment in a safe environment during the day and return home in the evening. Attending our programming Monday through Friday allows for the skills cultivated during the day to be implemented, in real time, with continual guidance and support from Charis’ team of multidisciplinary professionals which include therapists, psychologists and nurses with oversight by a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.
Our PHP+ day program includes a minimum of 4 hours of therapy daily, two visits weekly with a psychiatrist, weekly individual therapy, and the opportunity to complete school work during program hours supervised by a certified teacher. While group therapy is the primary framework, each child also receives weekly individual counseling and family therapy. The combination of group, individual and family therapy provides the foundation for the process of uncovering and addressing the underlying issues which empowers movement towards healing. Oftentimes, PHP+ is a step down level of care for a child exiting residential treatment or inpatient hospitalization. It is also a level of care that may prevent your child’s symptoms from exacerbating to the point of needing inpatient treatment.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Helps University Park Children
When a child is unable to cope with day-to-day life due to difficulties related to mental illness or substance use, seeing a therapist once a week may not be enough. The Charis Intensive Outpatient Program+ (IOP+) allows your child to address their struggles with the support of a team that includes therapists, psychologists and nurses with oversight by a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. Our IOP+ day program is a safe, structured environment that creates multiple avenues for a child in University Park TX to heal and develop tools to face life’s challenges.
This Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) includes a minimum of 3 hours of therapy daily, once weekly visits with a psychiatrist, weekly individual therapy, and the opportunity to complete school work during program hours supervised by a certified teacher. While group therapy is the primary framework, each child also receives weekly individual counseling and family therapy. Because the treatment program is Monday through Friday, our team is able to work to address issues in real time. Oftentimes IOP+ is a step down level of care for individuals completing the PHP+ program, however, a child can admit to this level of care as well.
